DEPOSITS AND FINAL PAYMENTS

A non-refundable deposit of $600 per person is payable to secure your booking.
The balance is due 90 days prior to the departure date.  Bookings made inside 90 days prior to the departure date are to be paid
in 7 days of confirmation. A payment plan is available should you require it.
Deposits and payments made by a credit card will incur a fee; please enquire at the time of booking

 

LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS

 Luggage restrictions have recently come into play on the Shinkansen. If a suitcase is over 160 lineal centimetres, the rear seats of a carriage need to be reserved to accommodate the luggage. Without a reservation, passengers will be charged 1,000yen for the journey. As we don't reserve seats on the Shinkansen (this allows us much more freedom) and because of the size of our groups, this would be very difficult so we need to make sure our suitcases measure 160cm or below. I measured the case I take on every trip - it is a medium sized case with four wheels - and it falls under 160cm. (The way to measure this is length + width + depth = 160 or less)

AMENDMENT FEES

After confirmation, and/or vouchers have been issued, amendment or re- booking fees of AUD$110 per amendment will apply. In addition, airlines and other service providers may also charge a fee.

TOUR PAYMENT COSTS

Costs are subject to change until full and final payment based on the current rate of exchange of the day has been received. Once full payment, including any quoted surcharge, has been received prices are guaranteed.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

A passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the return date of travel. Australian Passport holders will not require a visa to visit Japan for a stay of up to 90 days. Those not travelling on an Australian passport may require a visa, please enquire .  Your travel documents and itineraries will be forwarded to you 28 days prior to travel to your nominated address.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Comprehensive Travel Insurance is required to be taken out to join this tour, please enquire should you wish to take out a policy though TravelManagers, alternatively please email a copy of your valid certificate of Insurance prior to commencement of your travel. 

CANCELLATION FEES

Please note the following cancellation fees will apply. 
Cancellations received in writing more than 90 days prior to the commencement of the tour will forfeit all deposits paid.
Cancellations received 90 days or less before commencement of the tour will incur 100% cancellation cost.
There are no refunds for services not utilized when on tour.

HEALTH

For health or vaccination requirements please contact your local GP who will advise you best on travel to Japan.  In addition airlines and countries you are visiting may require certain vaccinations  
Comprehensive Travel insurance is required to join the tour to cover tour members in the event of unforeseen circumstances from events
such as accident, death. 
This trip is not designed to be a relaxing trip, you will need to be reasonably fit and able to carry your bag up the odd set of train stain stairs. There will be quite a bit of walking involved – particularly at some of the larger attractions such as temples and castles. 

 
TRAVEL WARNINGS

It is your responsibility to check if any travel advisories have been listed for the countries planned to visit.

MINIMUM TOUR NUMBERS

The tour has been costed based on a minimum number of passengers travelling. In the event less than the required number of passengers have confirmed their booking 90 days from the date of departure, we reserve the right to cancel the tour. We will offer a full refund of monies paid, alternatively we will offer the tour to proceed at a modified tour price.
